Should the Controversy Section be changed to Critisism?

To be fair and ballance what the christian group critisized her for was one thing. Her latest Album "A Public Affair" was critisized a lot for its unorginality and poor quality amongsted Industry Critics. Te lead single "A Public Affair" most directly recieved this critisism as noted in the article on that Single. Also her fathers envolvement in her career has been continued to be questioned within the industry. This has led some to believe (removed unsourced contentious material per policy)

Dessert Beauty & "I DO"

Why isn't there no mention of Dessert Beauty? Jessica Simpson is a co-founder of the company. ThisIsMyName 08:11, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I realized this before I posted the message above. The article didn't say anything about it at that time. ThisIsMyName 06:46, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

The article also fails to mention anything about jessicas book writting. she published "I DO", based on her wedding with nick lachey.

POV anyone?

This entire article is so POV it isn't funny. Who wrote it? Jessica Simpson's publicist? (removed unsourced contentious material per policy)

and nowhere is this mentioned in the article.
Oh yes, because adding something to the article such as "OMGZ PEOPLE F1ND H3R TOTALLY REVOLTING!!11onetwo" wouldn't be P.O.V. - Triggy, Jul. 15.
from WP:POV - "Some contributors to Wikipedia abuse the term POV, taking it as an antonym to "NPOV", implying that a particular article or passage is affected by an editor's point of view. This is not what the term POV means, and should be avoided. The term they are groping for is "biased"." - --Dem 13:42, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

What about the (removed unsourced contentious material per policy)? Many (removed unsourced contentious material per policy).

The Payola incident never specified which artists record companies figures they inflated. Plus, ALL major record companies were found guilty of Payola, not just Jessica's record company. To single her out is unfair and biased. Wikipedia is not a place for listing various bad reviews. The only thing that matters is listing her work, not writing a article of how bad OR how good she is.

Whistle register

I am removing Simpson's categorization as a whistle register singer. Please refer to the whistle register article for details. If you restore her categorization as a whistle register singer, please produce proof—specifically, which notes above E6 she hits in which songs. Just being able to sing high doesn't count; the whistle register is an elite and rarely-used discipline (which, consequently, can ruin one's voice if not done correctly). --C-squared 04:19, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Birthplace

Where was she born, Dallas, Waco or Abilene? At least they're all in Texas. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:46, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Net worth

Since when is Jessica Simpson worth over 79 million dollars?

According to Forbes magazine Jessica is only worth 8 million dollars. Can someone provide a link.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2005/53/35I4.html

She doesn't have a number-one hit, there's no way she could get 79 million dollars--hottie 22:35, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
"Together they are worth $80 million, but Nick has contributed a mere $6 million. At the time of their marriage, Nick was wealthier from the boy band 98 degrees; since then, Simpson has shot to superstardom with a net worth of more than $79 million." -- These numbers don't add up; if she's worth $79m, and together they are worth $80m, then Nick's contribution must be $1m. Or their net worth is $85m. Given the Forbes source that disproves these numbers and the dubious arithmetic, I'm removing this paragraph. --duncan 15:57, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't y'all know that Forbes only gives how much many they make a year. A net worth is what they have earned over the years in their careers. (UTC)

BLP

Increasingly (removed unsourced contentious material per policy) ==

I think it is very relevant that Simpson started her career (removed unsourced contentious material per policy), and has she has aged her image has (removed unsourced contentious material per policy). I think not mentioning this, an integral part of her fame, is very biased. Pacian 22:23, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

IQ

On the one and the reference [[1]] states: "She's not Mensa material, but Jessica Simpson's brilliant at selling herself"

and on the other hand they claim she has an 160 IQ, more than enough to get accepted into MENSA.

Makes no sense. I think all this bull should be removed since there are no reliable references.

(removed unsourced contentious material per policy)--LooseTheHotButtonS 14:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Maybe not, but she's hotter than a charcoal briquette at Weber's Grill. 64.241.230.3 20:17, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
"hotter than a charcoal briquette"? New rules: Wikipedia can only be editted by those north of the Mason-Dixon.

You can't tell if someone is smart just because of the way they look, it just tells me how smart people are here saying things like 'she doesn't look smart'.

Just wow, by saying "She don't look smart at all", Hotwiki was mocking Jessica Simpson's (removed unsourced contentious material per policy). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Siodine (talkcontribs) 16:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC).

Joe Simpson comments

I have removed a reference allegedly made by her Dad and manager. Please don't restore it unless we have reliable sources. Capitalistroadster 20:39, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Fired Up

Can we just say that it didn't chart? It looks better and is more accurate then To Be Recorded. If it was released in March and hasn't charted yet why not just say it didn't chart?

Bad links?

Some of the external links, especially WMPH and possibly the other that starts with an unnecessary hyphen, appear to be spam or unhelpful. A user has been adding them to numerous dance artists's pages. I would suggest removing them, but given that this article receives more monitoring than the other articles I am removing them from, would like to leave this decision to someone more familiar with the article, as it is possible they are helpful and encyclopic and such. : ) --Roombalogin 05:02, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

I've edited the artist info at the top of the page to feature the official website. They had jessicasimpson.cc as the official page for quite some time. This website is loaded with spam and advertisements. Sites like these belong at the bottom of the page in the external links section if they are to be here at all. --wkilis 4:09, 30 October 2006 (CST)

Jessica's Full Name

Hi guys - what is Jessica's full name? The lead sentence says it is Jessica Ann Simpson while the infobox says Jessica Anna Simpson. I think it's Ann but could someone who knows please rectify this? — Sulvo 08:54, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I thought her middle name was spelt "Anne".

messed up markup?

I see lot of backslashes in this article, eg \'\'\'Jessica Ann Simpson\'\'\' which does not seem to be valid markup and apparently needs to be cleaned up. I was just wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on what happened here? ReidarM 09:44, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Album Sales for A Public Affair

Is it just me, or is the RIAA certification of the album as Gold status wrong? Doesn't an album have to sell at least 500,000 copies before it's certified as Gold? Simpson's current album has only sold a little over half (specifically 240,000) of the 500,000 copies required to be a Gold status album.Vera26 23:33, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

They tend to give out the certifications early.66.210.114.195
Gold status is often based on the number of units shipped wholesale, not the number sold at retail. See the entry at Gold record. Hatch68 21:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I have noticed that the statement that "the Dukes of Hazzard movie debuted at #1" has had a "needs citation" note next to it for quite awhile now. I found a webpage that backs that up and was wondering if it could possibly be used as a source or I guess at least it could be listed on the external links section. I think the site is better than a couple of the external links on there now and seeing how this article lacks any other sources and cited references an additional external link could be merited. The site is http://www.eyeballson.com/jessica_simpson/ and regarding the "Dukes #1 Box-office statement see http://www.eyeballson.com/jessica_simpson/jessicasimpsoncareerinfo.htm Also the site has a funny Jessica lookalike contest that's unique.BHFeller 06:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Tony Romo

I noticed a few people have tried to add info about Jessica's rumored connection to Tony Romo and it gets reverted for lack of sourcing. Would http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6192574?FSO1&ATT=HMA be an appropriate source?BHFeller 18:57, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind. Romo squashed the rumor. See http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/football/nfl/stories/MYSA11282006.WEBcowboysmailbag.en.321f9bca.html BHFeller 18:18, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Useful news report about the loss to Philadelphia Eagles and the connection to the girlfriend being at the game. The same thing happened to Romo last year. [2] —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheLasso (talkcontribs) 18:20, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
